Gramma, Brittany, Brooke, Ivory and I went to Salt Lake City for a girls-weekend at the Salt Palace. Having never been to this event I wasn't sure what to expect. The speakers were familiar, the topic was "Seek the Good" and with music in the mix it just had to be good!! It didn't disappoint! I had a fantastic time! It was uplifting, it was funny, it was inspiring, it was thought provoking- it "filled my cup" to overflowing. Of course getting together with my family always means I'm going to have a good time, so that's already accounted for, but the rest was truly frosting of the best flavor!!
- Jenny Oaks Bakes is a genius with a violin, and so gifted- she made the hairs on the back of my neck stand at attention while soothing my soul at the same time!!
- Two ladies from "Two Bites" (cooking business) were hilarious with their comments on the things we feel insecure about and wish we could be like Martha Stewart in our homemaking. Reminded me to laugh about all the stuff, not just the little stuff.
- Shari Dew spoke on how the church values women-things I hadn't thought of before. Very powerful and smart, and it put things into perspective as she gave an overview of how we are given opportunities to lead that no other womens organization gets.
- Chris Williams spoke on forgiveness and amazed me at his walk with the Savior in letting go of his hurt towards the drunk young man that killed his wife unborn baby and two small children. Very powerful and human. He saved the young man with his choices.
- John Bytheway is just always good, funny and leaves me with a desire to be better
- Mercy River- a group of three women shared fun and interesting snipets from their lives and sang to illustrate the message. The lyrics were fantastic and very poignant.
- Emily Freeman shared her feelings about how we put so much on the beginning and the end of things, she wanted to focus on the middle where time just seems to drag. She shared some scriptures from the old testament that were surprisingly loving and inspiring.
- Brad Wilcox was funny and inspiring talking about how important names were and how the Savior knows our name and we as members should know his. It was funny, and powerful and memorable. He's awesome to me as he served right before I got to Vina del Mar and wrote the song for our mission and he was McKae Ballard's misson president. He is so energetic.
OOPS!! Which of these ones is not like the other

By the end of the weekend Gramma was really tired so we had to carry her from place to place...... jklol!! :) This was one of our fun poses -she loved it!! Although we didn't drop her, I think when the three young ones decided to stand without telling Gramma or me it was a little scary!! They actually pulled me right up when they thrusted her so quickly, I didn't need to know! She was game for the fun and we didn't brake her!
We took the time out and it was well worth it!!
