You were born in the American Fork Hospital, American Fork, UT- but we took you home to Provo, UT.
What a wonderful journey..
You were born in the American Fork Hospital, American Fork, UT- but we took you home to Provo, UT.
! It's a party...it's your birthday !
Itty Bitty and cute as a button :)
Grandma was there for each one of you to welcome you and help us roll out the love!
You were quiet and pensive and easy to soothe, you were probably already doing math tables in your head waiting for your body to catch up to your "Brain Power":) Notice the cute little cowlick in your hairline, you came out with the center part and the hair on either side licked into a twist! Talk about unique!
Getting ready for the rollover!
Look at the cutest little girls!
You were 4 months old- Patti and Mike came for a visit.
Trying on my nylons!
When you started walking you kept your toungue out for balance.... and you showed your love of music-moving to music when you were just a sliver.
One of my all time favorites, you loved this horse and it was just your size.
Many things about this photo are disturbing. We rarely left you to a babysitter and after this I don't think we did again. First... why did you feel the need to wear your smoothie? You were obviously there long enough to pour, smear and pose- I don't know how the knife plays into the scene, but without supervision... I am just so glad it wasn't blood!! I think we were shocked, mad and then grateful in rapid succession. Then we had to get a picture so you could see how cute you are... in pink no less!
You were so fun to take pictures of because you kept still for quite some time.... and you had such darling eyes and fun faces; having much to say but not often saying it!!
This is a picture of you girls helping me plant pots for Gramma Banks
she loved when you came to visit and she loved the gift of flowers.
Sometimes when we were at parades or walking in town we'd put you in the stroller, because at 5.... you still fit!
You were and continue to be a fun big sister, watching out for Amanda, playing with her, teaching her, going to friends houses and letting her play along side you, she is so grateful that she has a sister to grow up with! :)
Your Birthday just happened to line up with "family's coming to town" day!Grandpa Phillips was very sick and we had several reunions at our home in Hurricane to spend time together. The nice thing was you got more presents, but the hard thing was you really didn't feel like you had a say in what we did for the activities. We tried to make it special, and you were a good sport about it- but we had really good Store bought cake!
We had a killer field behind the house that we used for our private little park. One of your birthdays lined up with Easter and "family Coming to Town" time and we had a little hunt.
A wee bit shy of the camera then.
Look at you, just a pip squeak of a kid :)
Grandma Stoller started a tradition of giving mini rocking chairs to the grandaughters, this is your's Errin. You were the only one who got one in our clan because we were living in Maine when Britt and Brooke were little, or in a place we didn't have enough room...so they grew too big to give them one...If you are lucky you will get yours back when you start a family :)
HALLOWEEN

Halloween was fun because we insisted it would be !
And you guys were game to make the most of it. Almost always helping choose what you wanted to be. With what was available and a little imagination!

SCHOOL:
YOU getting your Sports On!
You gave soccer a try, let's just say it wasn't your favorite.
...body checking made it a little less fun.
You were so dainty and it was obvious that when you danced you forgot about everything else and just moved with the music. It was so fun to watch you have fun and feel at ease and glide, and you moved so gracefully it was a great match up!
Although you're favorite sport is dancing, you did try the family sport..
Freshman Volleyball
Meridian, Idaho
Then we moved to Meridian and you made the dance team, dancing your Jr. and Sr. years. What a job! Got up nearly year round at 5:15-5:30 to be at practice at 6:00. You did such a great job at doing your best, sticking with it when you were bored, tired, and sick of the girl drama! That's like an education all on it's own. You were so fun to watch and I am so glad you got the chance to express yourself and shine on the dance floor. You guys made it to state both years, and your Sr. Year you took third place in Military~ it was awesome!

I'll forever be grateful that you were able to support us and do everything you could to have a good attitude and help with what ever we needed. It was a hard time and never had the kids had to work so hard to move our family, you and Amanda were amazing with all you gave, someday you will know how big that help was.
Carmel Huge-Apples in Meridian. Uhm Uhm Good!
It's so hard to start over and you made the best of coming to Meridian. You had the school staff and teachers on your side right away, and when you joined the dance team you really settled into being a part of our new home. It's been fun seeing you dance again and you are amazing for giving what it takes to be on the dance team- commitment and teamwork and blood sweat and tears!

ERRIN RABECCA PHILLIPS
Errin is grace. She is poised she is silk. She is quiet strength; delicate yet mighty. She is knowledge and beauty, softness and peace. Caring and helpful, she is hope. Like a gentle note on a sunset sky she floats as she goes, her movements smooth and deliberate. Not needing the praise of others she stays her course, independent and assured. She is true, she sets a course and need not be followed, nor seeks to follow the mass. Her light brightens our path, her happiness infectious.
I can't believe your about to graduate Errin, it's been such a short time getting to this point, you'll be on to college soon and it will be so weird and sad to not have you here at home! Way to go and aren't you happy to be done ? ! :)
You've been an easy child; you haven't demanded anything, you're most often easy going, you're fun and you have a special way of making people feel calm and that everything is going to be ok. You're a hard worker, especially when you know what you want to do. You are detail oriented and you learn things so easily. You are a bright spot no matter where you are, and you have been a sweetheart in our family, not making waves or making things about yourself. You don't need to be the center of attention and will loyally follow and support anyone you trust and admire, even those in authority because you respect office. You have strength to continue when most people would stop- you have shown that you can be consistent and dependable and driven.
I have been so impressed with you on the dance team, I know what you've learned in patience and perserverance will bless you throughout your life.
Thank you for looking for ways to help out, whether it was going to get Amanda, or running things down the street, or cleaning or cooking, you often made time for me and your siblings and I really appreciate that. In your early years you spent time to yourself and if that made you happy then it was a good thing, but I think since you found your very own thing (dance) and given yourself to being the best you can be, you've really blossomed. You can see the difference in your pictures, your beautiful smile radiates happiness. Over the years its been fun to watch you doing things you love to do.
You were definitely blessed with brains and a sense of right and wrong, and you've done a great job avoiding things that you knew would harm you. Your sense of control and good choices have seemed almost easy for you, and I'm grateful that you have been firm so when opportunities came, you'd already made the choice and were able to avoid pain. I love that you're careful and think things over before taking action. You are balanced in not doing something because of emotion. You don't over-react, but rather you process things and decide how to move forward. I love that you are quiet, yet you have spunk ~ you light up a room with your cheefulness and bubbly laugh. You are fun to be around and people look forward to having you around.
I am so proud of the young lady you've become and can't wait to see where you take yourself in the years to come.
We All Love you and Know you will do Great things
Thank you and love you to pieces :)
They guide us with questions and reminders of what we ought to do. They pull us into playtime to rejuvenate our soul and ease our troubled minds. They inspire us with their choices, many we wonder if we could make, as they require a strong heart.
Happy Birthday Errin, I love YOU !

Our Kids Save Us
We’re supposed to be the guide, the one who teaches and pulls aside, who leads with confidence. As parents we want only what's best for the child, growing ourselves... our weakness are revealed.
We bring them into this world, hoping on prayer we can do them some good.
We visualize what we hope they will become,We worry over poor choices we make-fearing their lessons might push them away, or worse... that our guidance leads them astray.
They come so innocent, so pure, so clean. Needing us in every way. Smiling upward-their whole soul alive! Shining eyes undaunted by fear, untainted by failure. They trust and believe, trying to make sense of the things we say and the messages we intend.
They skip without care, play with peaceful minds. They laugh and it pulls us in, when we are open. They are grateful. Aware of the magnificence of life and all it’s glories. They express amazement and look for the good all around. They are full of curiosity and thanksgiving.
They grow, with us alongside them stretching under the pressure of teaching, not sensing that they are guiding us. We have it all wrong.... our kids come to save us.
In their innocence they remind us of hope, their understanding well beyond their years. They seek to make us happy. They worry when we aren’t at peace, offering hugs to bring us out of our sadness. They laugh with us to build our confidence. They cry with us to ease our pain.
They delight us with their abilities, and surprise us with their creations. They love without question and often without reason, They hold to us and believe in us and expect there will never be a day that they can’t! The pressure that we may disappoint them is always in the back of our minds, but their forgiveness helps us to keep trying.
And all the while I thought that we were leading them......
Diana Phillips
